We are a committed team of volunteers, many from the communities the line will serve, who have come together to raise awareness of the benefits the reinstatement will bring. We support Peaks and Dales Line Ltd who are the Project Sponsor and are developing the necessary business cases to secure the required permissions to progress the potential reinstatement.

The reinstated route would provide services between Manchester and Derby via Chinley and/or Buxton, through Millers Dale, Bakewell, Matlock.
There are approximately 11.5 geographical miles of missing former railway, however the alignment remains largely intact.
Former stations along the line are being considered for reopening, although options do include possible new locations for stations as well as creating a through station in Buxton to enable existing terminating services to be extended.
The Project Sponsor for the proposed reinstatement is Peaks and Dales Line Ltd (PDL).
They are currently working in line with the Department for Transport's Better Value Rail process which seeks to identify and manage risks early and therefore reduce later costs in the project.
PDL recently submitted their initial Feasibility Study for the route which has presented a strong and detailed strategic case for the reinstatement as well as clearly identifying the transport need and defining the benefits.
